"I think people who truly can live a life in music are telling the world, You can have my love, you can have my smiles. Forget the bad parts, you don’t need them. Just take the music, the goodness, because it’s the very best, and it’s the part I give most willingly."

"I also know how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong. To measure yourself at least once. To find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions. Facing the blind death stone alone, with nothing to help you but your hands and your own head."

It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.
RIP Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh (top)

    Tigers & Strength [Repost]

I love tigers. I really do, almost as much as horses. So, it would not be too far-fetched to get a tattoo of said animal, no? Well, I’ve never exactly explained it to anyone, the meaning that is. To me, (and most people I assume). Tigers are a symbol of strength, courage.

“The tiger represents the virtue of courage. It also means revision, improvement, change, and the zen good. “”In other words the tiger reminds us of the impossible, triumphs and the beauty of freedom.” «Exactly
    [Both direct quotes from Wiki]
Well, I know the past is past and if you dwell on it then you might miss what’s in front of you.
A direct lesson from the animal kingdom, one I try to practice. Be in the moment. You’re alive now, whatever trials just happened are done, you survived, you’re stronger. Now prepare for your next adventure. Love and let go.
Anyways, back to my point,  dwelling on the past and ‘embracing’ it so to say are different. You have to forgive it to let it go and move forward. For the longest time I was stuck in the ‘present moment’ trance. But I wasn’t in the moment. Since I was a young girl I’ve had that little part of me that is stuck in reverse. That was stuck on just hating people; men more precisely. I made it my life’s goal, and mission, to hurt them before they hurt me. That’s not forgiving, letting go, or living in the moment.
“Fight Club” actually made more sense of it than anything, the part where Tyler burns his hand, and he tries to run from it. Here It will be there until you deal with it. As much as it hurts dealing with things, thats what makes you stronger. I finally realized, I can run, and lie, and hide. That will never change what people have done. But, I can change whether I let them ruin my life or not. I can either be my own hero, or my own enemy. I chose to be a tiger, a warrior. So no, my tiger does not represent what they did, but what I did to prove I’m stronger.
